Hey I have been using the toolbar for a couple of weeks and I wondered if you could make it so that the program runs in the clock area or hidden in the background, instead of taking up a spot on the taskbar? Also the box asking if you really want to quit when you press x should be able to be disabled. I also couldn't get it to automatically copy the icons into my posts, used cut n paste, no biggie though! It needs an eye rolling icon to be added! Let me know if you want my system specs. I use Firefox but I tried IE and the icons didn't copy into my text field automatically.

Removing the "are you sure" prompt is simple enough. I could add a "don't prompt on exit" option. Looks like an "Options" screen is on the cards....
I wondered about a "minimise to systemtray" option (i.e. so it was an icon near the clock) but I haven't looked into it yet. Ideally, if the toolbar was minimised to the system tray you should be able to select a vamecon from a pop-up menu without having to pop the toolbar back up. I'm sure this is possible but I'm not sure how it would affect the copying and pasting of the vamecons, which isn't a perfect science as you have found out
. When you select a vamecon, the toolbar copies it to the clipboard. It then tries to work out which program you were using before you clicked the vamecon and then sends a "paste" command there. Occasionally the toolbar gets confused as to which program was in use before the vamecon was clicked and so the "paste" operation is somewhat less than successful. It could be that you have something running that is stealing the "current application" status and so the toolbar is tring to paste into there instead.
I have already had one request for a "minimise" option, so minimising to the system tray might be the next thing to do.

Any chance MAC users can get the toolbar yet?

I haven't forgotten you Baz.
A web-page version (or similar) is first on my list as soon as I have finished my study (I can't do any work on my office at the moment as it is full of furniture and boxes from the study).
As soon as I have something, I'll ask you to "MACtest" it for me

Hey Darren,
When I use the toolbar now in Firefox, (when it works,) it puts the icon both in front and after my text so I have to delete one. Just thought you might like to know..
Also, when I have IE open and Firefox both, it tries to sign me into VAME in IE even though I am already signed in using FIrefox. Maybe it just doesn't like me because I use Firefox?

Hmm interesting. I'll start using Firefox so I can try and work out what is happening (I use Google Chrome at the moment 'cos it loads faster).
IE and Firefox each store your login details separately so you will get prompted by both. The toolbar uses the Internet Explorer "engine" so it will ask you to sign in separately (I get the same thing with Chrome) if you haven't already logged in via IE. If you have cookies enabled for IE it shouldn't prompt you to log in again.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll see what I can do about the double-paste problem.

No problem!

It sometimes freezes and I have to control+alt+del to shut it down. Also it launches IE by itself when I pick the first smiley face and goes to the login page even though IE is open. I can help you test a new version if you were to have one.

Hmm, could be the PM check. I have already added a "don't check for messages" option in the new version but I am still testing it.

Even if you are logged in to VAME in IE?

Oh, I meant to put that Firefox was open, and not IE and it launched IE anyways. Interestingly, when I goto the forums using the toolbar it launches it correctly in a new Firefox tab when I have Firefox running.

Oh ok. It shouldn't launch IE as a stand-alone application but it may well display a log-in window if there isn't a Lefora cookie in your IE cookies folder. Idon't see it very often as I don't explicitly log out but I'll have a look at the wiindow that pops up and see what it is doing.
Launching a new tab in Firefox is what I would expect (assuming that Firefox is your default browser and you have the "open new page in a new tab" option selected).
Thanks for the feedback

Yes, that link should have all of the info you need. Save the toolbar to your PC and run it. If it gives an error message, you will probably need to install the .net package - the link is in the "how to" page.
Any problems, give me a shout
