Hi all you great members of VAME this arrived yesterday and now i'm in two minds whether to decard it or not so i thought i would leave it up to you lot to decide whether i should open it or Leave it on the card. The reason i'm not to sure whether to open it or not is because i have also got a Vintage Officer that arrived at the begining of the week as well so i'm really not to sure what to do now? I thought i would mix it up a bit and have some fun and leave it up to you lot to make my mind up for me and tell me what i should do. The Vintage Officer was nearly completed except for the Sam Brown belt so that's why i was going to open the 40th so i could get the belt out to complete the vintage one but after asking a few trusted members whether i should use the 40th bits to complete it or look for the right vintage lot a few of you guys said i should try and complete it with the right vintage bits. I thought this over but thought that it would take me ages to get the right stuff to complete it but Dan ( AKA. DANTHECOAT ) the gentleman decided to offer me the vintage bits i needed to complete it and pulled a Sam Brown Belt out of his spare box and kindly decided to offer it to me to help complete the uniform. ( TOP MAN DAN)  It's now completed so i dont really see why i have to decard the 40th one i bought and so what i was going to do was see how many of you would say i should decard it and how many say i shouldn't. I'm going to have a dead line of 10PM on friday and when i count the votes i'm going to do what you members want me to do. So it's up to you whether i should do it or not so get your vote in and decide it's fate. I'm interested to see what you would do if you was in my position and whether you would decard it or leave it alone for another day. VOTE NOW before the deadline ends and watch me open it up or store it away for a rainy day.

Please post pics of your British Officers when you vote as i would love to see your additions as well..

Leave it carded!
Displays look that much better with the uniform carded behind it.

Leave it on the card m8

You have a complete vintage one now so display the 40th behind it if not stick it up in the loft and forget about it :)

these have already gone up in value (How much did you pay?) (PM me that if you want) but i think they border of £50 now

Keep it as an investment and a great display piece.

And no worries bout the belt we have all been in a position where we badly needed something to finish a uniform and not to freak you out you need a baton with this fella surprise now thats the rare bit to find even i want one of those grin i do have a 40th one somewhere but it looks well crap lol

My piccy is above my name an Action Burt creation just begging for an officers suit devil

Take Care and i wanna see a piccy of the officer in his sam browne

I think it has to be your choice mate and what you are going to get more enjoyment out of, I think Iain's colourful description that 40th is crap off the card is a little harsh (although his opinion and I respect that) I honestly think the 40th stuff looks crap on the card as it screams new. I rather have a mint figure on display stood in front of a tatty vintage card then the other way around but that's me and we are all different. And you may love or hate the 40th stuff but enough people voted for this picture for it to win photo of the month, Vintage or 40th? you decide!

I would say that if your only reason for taking it off the card was to get at the bits that you no longer need, leave it on the card. If you want to display both together, take it off

I sold this first figure:

then picked up bits and made another (thanks To JamesT71 for the re-flocked head ). Just waiting for a Sam Browne:

Finally the 40th Figure:

 Whatever you do, enjoy it!

You HAVE to burn painted heads to destroy them.
Those googly eyes Blue panters? You just need to turn their Eagle eyes once
and off pops the head. There, easy to destroy!

Re. trooper71's photo,  the fabric of the Army Officer jacket and trousers looks vintage,  but the peak on the cap and the shoes look a tad glossy,  so I reckon it's the 40th version.
