I've not posted for a while due to work commitments and with making the most of the good weather on Madferret Farm.

I've currently got a number of custom jobs sat on the bench in various stages of work and hopefully with the longer nights coming I'll get some more chances to do a bit of work in the shed.

However I did finally get to finish putting my modified SLR together
image

it was to take a broken SLR, cut a section out of the forestock, glue back in place with a couple of pins drilled in to help maintain the position.  shorten the barrel but keep the flash eliminator and bayonet lug.

the next major part was to cut off the magazine from a LMG/ Bren and then to carefully cut away the magazine from the SLR, all with the aim of keeping the angled magazine housing.

Regards

Jock

below you can see the comparison between a normal SLR and the "Stubbie".  I've seen a couple real ones in the "flesh" and they always look brilliant.  I just wish I'd had the opportunity to fire one so that I could compare it against the normal SLR.

I'll post some pics of the build stages once I'm back home in a weeks time.
