Yes, cavalry  - the Royal Hussars (PWO). The picture on the bottom right is my dad as a Staff-Sergeant carrying the Guidon (cavalry version of the "Standard" or "Colours") with his two escorts for the Queen's Birthday parade in Berlin in the 80s. The left-hand pic is my dad receiving the BEM from Her Majesty's ambassador in Bonn after we had left Berlin.  Both pics have given me an idea for a photoshoot

Fantastic Daren, something to be proud of indeed!  My Dad only did 2-years National Service with the RAF (as a typist!), but just nice that he served.

"Splendid stuff Daren....something to be very proud of!

Indeed

"Photoshoot!!!.....are you planning on taking over from the Boss?"

By "photoshoot" I mean if "I'm not careful with the blasted tripod I'll end up twanging the damn thing into the air and the camera will go shooting over next-door's fence"

Exactly.

Shortly after joining up I realised I should have joined the RAF. Better pay & conditions and a much easier life

lol totally!  If Daniel ever shows leanings in the Forces direction, the RAF is exactly where I'm going to point him.  Not sure I could reconcile with him becoming a thoroughbred 'Penguin' though, rather the RAF Regiment; "best of both worlds"

Did you see that series on the RAF at Khanadahar on I think it was Sky 1 on a Friday night?  Heavily biased towards the RAF Regiment which I though was great, not least as aside from the Flyboys, the 'Rockapes' are the only RAF guys that really get any action
Mind you, I do feel massively for the regular 'guins' sitting on the receiving end of constant rocket/mortar attacks and never having the chance to hit back

A reminder folks that we still have plenty of mouse mats and mugs sitting on the shelf waiting for punters.  I was so pleased with my mug (the ceramic kind at least), I purchased two more so as to never run out around the dishwasher rotation grin

Mine arrived at 10 to 8 this morning. Didn't mind though, as not only are they fab, I slept through and Mrs Deeyem got up and answered the door [image]

Top effort Tim! My office is now all set-up for the new year! [image]

Well well, I do detect a 'new series'  Dr Who Cyberman amongst the Action Man stuff and the computer equipment.

"It all started when Mike and I and Mitch were out on a mission in Supercar" Going in to my second childhood? No way! I never came out of the first! If Speedway was easy they would have called it Football. The Bees have the answers.
